The purpose of SmartOps24x7 is to enable rapid and cost-effective development of systems which track and trace the flow of work-in-process materials through manufacturing plants, distribution warehouses and other parts of the industrial supply-chain in real-time.

It is also a repository of videos, white papers and other resources related to the implementation of smart operations management (SOM) systems that track and manage work-in-progress WIP materials tracking and traceability in industrial supply-chains.

SmartOpsMgt™ specializes in the tracking of containers of material, assets and serialized items which have a unique license plate number barcode and/or RFID tag attached. This includes tracking the shipping, receipt, warehousing, movement, transformation, labeling, picking and packing of these materials in a wide variety of applications.

By contrast, ERP, accounting, and conventional warehouse management systems track the quantity of specific items at specific locations. While this is adequate for many applications, these software products do not address situations where the tracking of individual containers of material, serialized items, or assets is required, especially where these have to be tracked at many different geographic locations.

The Unique Capabilities of the SmartOps24x7 Software Suite have been proven in over a decade of use, in a wide-variety of applications, such as those shown above. These capabilities have enabled cost effective implementation of Work-in-Process WIP tracking and Material Tracking & Traceability Systems, including those requiring store and forward data exchange with field and mobile units where there may be intermittent communications.

As part of these applications, SmartOpsMgt recognizes that, in these specialized applications, each system needs to be tailored to the specific needs of the organization. This includes exchanging data with a wide-variety of ERP, accounting, sales, process control, and AI decision support systems, as well as with systems belonging to supply-chain partners.

To this end, SmartOps24x7 is designed to be tailored to the specific needs of each organization by an organization's own in-house business analysis, IT, and manufacturing engineering staff, based on the extensive documentation provided on this site. Also, SmartOpsMgt is actively growing a Partner Support Ecosystem comprised of third-party consultants, systems integrators, IT people, and resellers of the needed equipment who can assist in the implementation process.

SmartOpsMgt makes copies of the SmartOps24x7 software suite available free of charge, with enough user and device login licenses for small organizations to be able to adopt SOM principles as they start on their growth path to becoming substantial enterprises. SmartOpMgt also makes copies free of charge to educational institutions so that they can train tomorrow's technicians and managers in these methods.

At the same time SmartOpsMgt recognizes that tracking serialized items, individual and nested containers of material, as well as assets which have complex properties, requires a different mindset to conventional inventory tracking methods that are used by most mid-sized industrial organizations using their ERP systems. As such, SmartOpsMgt is making copies of its software available at no charge to the staff of mid-sized industrial organizations for testing and software development purposes, again with a limited number of user and device logins.
